MX-WOUND Kick-Off Meeting Held in Alghero, Sardinia
14th of September, 2026
The consortium of the new MSCA Staff Exchanges MX-WOUND project gathered in Alghero, Sardinia, for its official kick-off meeting. Representatives of all ten project partners joined the meeting to launch the project activities and agree on the practical steps for the first implementation period.
The meeting opened with a welcome from project coordinator Maksym Pogorielov, University of Latvia, followed by discussions on project implementation rules, budget and management procedures. Frederico Miranda, Project Officer from the European Research Executive Agency (REA), joined the meeting to provide information and guidance on the implementation of the MSCA Staff Exchanges action.
A major part of the programme was dedicated to the organisation of the project’s scientific activities. The partners reviewed the structure of the work packages, responsibilities within the consortium, data management and dissemination activities. Each organisation presented its expertise and planned contribution to the project, providing an opportunity to coordinate the complementary roles of the academic and industrial teams.
Particular attention was given to the work plan and secondment programme for the first year. The consortium discussed the timing of researcher exchanges, the activities to be carried out at host institutions and the coordination of the first joint experimental and training activities.
The kick-off meeting also provided an important opportunity for partners from different countries and scientific disciplines to meet in person, strengthen existing collaborations and establish new working links within the consortium. MX-WOUND combines academic and industrial expertise and places strong emphasis on interdisciplinary and intersectoral researcher mobility, knowledge exchange and practical training.
The meeting concluded with agreement on the immediate priorities for the coming months, including the launch of the first secondments, coordination of activities within the work packages and preparation of the first project training and dissemination actions.
